At Wishingline Design Studios we take pride in developing websites using recognized standards such as XHTML and CSS.
We work diligently to identify problems in the display of our work on numerous browsers on both Windows and Macintosh platforms and aim to provide the best experience possible for our visitors.
For our own work, our requirements are more strict than they might be for our clients who often have no choice but to support a greater range of legacy browsers and platforms. For us standards rule and so we aim to support newer browsers only for our site — just because.
A computer: Mac or Windows, we don’t care — but we do highly recommend just about anything from Apple. A monitor or screen reader, because, well, reading this page or any other without one of these might be a tad difficult otherwise.
If you are using a computer monitor, we also recommend that you set the resolution to nothing less than 1024 x 768 pixels in order to see everything with a minimum of unnecessary scrolling. You might also want a web browser (see below for more specifics) and a few plug-ins (see Technologies below for more).
No, not the shoes…
Currently we support all fifth generation browsers on the two major operating system platforms from Apple and Microsoft. Our site likely works well on Linux and one of these days we’ll have a Linux box available for testing…
For the best and more secure experience we highly recommend using a standards-compliant browser such as Safari or Firefox. And if you really want to use Explorer, as long as you use version 6 or better, we’ll let it slide for now…

If you’re using Mac OS X and still using Internet Explorer 5, it’s time to move on. Microsoft killed the software over a year ago and it’s time has passed. While we’ve checked and most of the site should work fine in this browser, the Search functionality is severely crippled and you’ll likely see some nasty JavaScript errors and slow load time as a result. Do yourself a big favour and move up to one of the recommended browsers listed above!
At this time we are also not actively supporting the Opera browser. It may work, but we haven’t tested extensively to verify that the site works as expected. It’s also kind of pugly. Not Netscape 7.x pugly, but we think it’s kind of scary.
Oh, and if you’re using Internet Explorer 5.5, sorry but you’re also out of luck. This is a (hopefully) CSS hack-free site and we’d like to do our best to keep it that way. It allows us to bring you new, cool and exciting technology without losing too much sleep over whether or not it works in all browsers. We may move to support this version of Explorer later, but as part of our initial launch, it’s not on the list.
We are making use of both QuickTime and Macromedia FlashPlayer browser plug-ins to provide rich media content on this website and recommend that you have the latest version of each installed for the optimum experience.
We Generally provide documentation in the PDF document format and you will need (at least) the free Adobe Reader application to view these files. All three pieces of software mentioned here are free downloads from their respective suppliers.
